China Releases Fresh Ranking for Crypto Projects
The People’s Republic of China’s Center for Information and Industry Development (CCID) published its latest crypto project ranking: the Global Public Blockchain Technology Assessment Index. 35 projects were taken into account. EOS maintains the top spot, Ethereum ranks third, Bitcoin moves up two notches to occupy the 13th place, and Bitcoin Cash takes the 27th rank. Projects that achieved the best overall improvement are Nano, Verge, and Qtum.
EOS, TRON and ETH as the Leaders
It is the first time for TRON, a project that uses blockchain for a decentralized web, to be included in the CCID ranking, placing second on the list with a total evaluation score of 145.6 (the highest next to EOS). The platform was established in May 2018. A ‘low-level public chain with high throughput, high expansion and high reliability,’ is how the CCID described TRON. It is Ethereum smart contract compatible and has more than 200 DApps on its blockchain.
EOS is at the top of the CCID’s assessment index with a total index score of 150.5. Ethereum, lost the second place to TRON, ranks third with a total index score of 139.2.
Primary Assessment Indicators
Three sub-indices are used by the CCID to assess crypto projects. These are basic technology, applicability, and creativity.
The basic technology sub-index analyzes the project’s level of technical awareness. This category considers performance, function, safety, and decentralization. EOS, TRON, Bitshares, Gxchain, and Nano are the top five blockchain projects in this category.
The applicability sub-index assesses the support of the public chain for practical applications such as node deployment, development support, wallet, and implementation of the application. Ethereum, NEO, Nebulas, TRON, and Ontology lead in this category.
The creativity sub-index gauges the project’s focus on innovation. In this sub-index, the number of developers in a project, together with code updates and impact are deliberated. Bitcoin, Ethereum, EOS, List, and TRON are the five best projects in terms of creativity.
The CCID functions directly under the country’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. This latest release is the second update for the ranking released this year.
