I had heard quite horrible comments about hitbtc customer service until I had the opportunity to contact them over a temporary freeze on my account. I must admit I had a great experience sorting out my problem. Whoever handled my problem was super responsive and professional and within a day my problem was resolved. That was the exact opposite of what a lot of people seem to say about the exchange but now I have a different opinion.
